Emerald Live Link is an add-on which connects to your Electricity Advisor, acting as a gateway that securely sends real-time electricity usage data straight to your smartphone via the Emerald App.
This setup takes your Electricity Advisor (bluetooth) to Live Link (Wi-Fi) and gives you instant access to insights and consumption data wherever you are, making it easy to manage and optimise your energy use. Anywhere. Anytime.
With LiveLink and the Electricity Advisor working together, you’re always connected to the latest information on your home’s energy usage, right in the palm of your hand.

Is Live Link compatible with all electricity meters?
LiveLink connects directly to your Electricity Advisor, so if your Electricity Advisor is installed and working, LiveLink will work perfectly.
If you’re purchasing both the Electricity Advisor and LiveLink together, it’s helpful to know that the Electricity Advisor is compatible with all smart (digital) electricity meters. However, it is not compatible with older-style meters that use manual or spinning disk technology.
Do I need an Electricity Advisor and LiveLink?
You can’t use LiveLink without the Electricity Advisor, as it relies on the Advisor’s data. So, if you’re looking for the full experience of real-time insights and the ability to monitor your energy use from anywhere, both devices are needed.
Electricity Advisor and LiveLink each offer unique benefits, but whether you need both depends on your goals. Electricity Advisor provides real-time insights into your energy usage, via bluetooth directly from your smart metre, helping you understand and manage your consumption. It connects when within Bluetooth range of your smart meter.
LiveLink, on the other hand, connects your Electricity Advisor to Wi-Fi, enabling you to manage your data from anywhere, anytime.
If you’re looking to actively monitor usage and optimise energy savings, Electricity Advisor is a great tool. But if you want to create a truly connected home, where your Emerald devices work together seamlessly, from anywhere, adding LiveLink will give you the full range of smart features.
Who installs LiveLink?
Emerald LiveLink is designed for easy, do-it-yourself installation, so you can set it up yourself without the need for a professional installer.
Simply follow the step-by-step instructions included with the device or refer to our online installation guide. However, if you need any assistance, our support team is here to help via the support centre.
Is Emerald App free?
Yes, the Emerald App is free to download and use, serving as the central hub for all Emerald’s connected products.
While the app itself is free, accessing its full range of features and starting your journey towards an efficient, smart home requires an investment in Emerald products.
From monitoring energy usage with the Electricity Advisor (and LiveLink WiFi add on) to managing settings for heating, cooling through AC Link,, the app enables you to bring all your Emerald devices together, helping you create a seamless and efficient home experience.
Does Emerald Smart Tech work with other devices?
Emerald is designed as a standalone app, specifically tailored to work seamlessly with Emerald’s own products, creating an efficient and cohesive smart home experience. Currently, it does not connect to other in-home smart devices like Google Nest or Alexa. However, by linking all Emerald products, the app offers powerful tools to manage energy, heating, cooling, and more from one place.
For specific compatibility, our Electricity Advisor integrates with a variety of smart meters (see the list of compatible smart meters), and AC Link works with all split system devices.
