Yes. Setting up your Emerald Electricity Advisor is the first step to setting up your Emerald LiveLink.

  1. Open the Emerald app - Create an account or Log in.
  2. Click '+' in the top right corner.
  3. Click ‘Add a device’ and select ‘Electricity Advisor’.
  4. Follow the in app prompts.

 

Emerald LiveLink is an add-on which connects to your Electricity Advisor, acting as a gateway that securely sends real-time electricity usage data straight to your smartphone via Emerald App. 

This setup takes your Electricity Advisor (bluetooth) to LiveLink (Wi-Fi) and gives you instant access to insights and consumption data wherever you are, making it easy to manage and optimise your energy use. Anywhere. Anytime. 

With LiveLink and the Electricity Advisor working together, you’re always connected to the latest information on your home’s energy usage, right in the palm of your hand.

Emerald LiveLink is designed for easy, do-it-yourself installation, so you can set it up yourself without the need for a professional installer. 

Simply follow the step-by-step instructions included with the device or refer to our online installation guide. However, if you need any assistance, our support team is here to help via the support centre.

The Electricity Advisor is a Bluetooth enabled device that monitors your Electricity usage by interpreting the flashing Impulse light on the front of your Smart meter as usage data.

 

The Electricity Advisor has a Bluetooth range of 20 metres and this can be obstructed by other electronics and/or thick walls. The Electricity Advisor can only be accessed while within range of the device.


The Livelink acts as a gateway device that connects your Electricity Advisor to your Home wi-fi network. The Livelink allows the user to view their Electricity Advisor data from anywhere, remotely. It does this by pairing to the Electricity Advisor through Bluetooth then creating a Wi-Fi network that you can connect to.

 

The Livelink does not act as an In-home Display; it is an accessory to the Electricity Advisor and cannot be used as a stand-alone device.

 

The Livelink is not a Free product under the Victorian Energy Upgrades Incentive

Emerald does not have access to your password and would not share or request that information at any time.

We value your right to privacy and therefore, do not store your passwords on the Emerald App Dashboard.


You can amend your password by following the Forgot Password prompt on the Emerald Home login screen, we will then send a One-Time password to your email. You will then have to enter that 6-digit One-Time password into the prompted field and create your new password.

If you have purchased a Livelink and are struggling to connect your new device to your Electricity Advisor; please try the following steps to ensure you are following the correct process:

 

Restart Your Electricity Advisor:

1. Press and Hold the green power button on the back of the Electricity Advisor for 2-3 seconds

2. The Front face (logo) will flash; once for off and three times for on.

Synchronise all historical data before pairing your Livelink:

1. Open your Electricity Advisor's display screen and allow all data to synchronise:

 

Ensure you are disconnected from your Electricity Advisor before connecting to your Livelink.

1. Turn off your mobile device's Bluetooth while pairing to your Livelink.

2. You will be prompted to do so through the pairing process.

 

 

You can reach out to our support team at any time using the link provided.

Make sure the LiveLink is properly plugged into the wall with the correct USB-C power cable.
To hard reset the LiveLink, hold the button on the back for 7 seconds.
The device should begin flashing correctly after it is reset.

Bluetooth range from your LiveLink to your Electricity Advisor is roughly 20m.
Wi-Fi range from your router to your LiveLink is roughly 35m.

Simply place your LiveLink within Bluetooth range (20m) of your Emerald Electricity Advisor and connect it to your 2.4ghz Wi-Fi.

  1. Make sure all household members have disconnected their bluetooth connection from the Emerald Electricity Advisor (your data won't be lost during this process).
  2. Press the button on the back of the LiveLink THREE times to place it into pairing mode.
  3. Once connected pair your LiveLink to your Electricity Advisor.

To hard reset the Emerald LiveLink, hold the button on the back for 7 seconds.

The LiveLink is a Wi-Fi gateway that works in partnership with the Emerald Electricity Advisor to send your electricity usage directly to your phone - anywhere, anytime.

The LiveLink works in addition to the Electricity Advisor and acts as a gateway connection between your Electricity Advisor and your Smartphone through WiFi instead of Bluetooth.

By purchasing the LiveLink, you can connect via Wi-Fi and have constant access to your real-time electricity data even when you’re away from home.

Follow three easy steps to get started with LiveLink:

  1. Plug in your LiveLink and place it within Bluetooth range of your Electricity Advisor.
  2. Open or download Emerald app and follow the in-app instructions to pair your LiveLink with your Wi-Fi router.
  3. Connect your LiveLink to your Electricity Advisor.

We recommend that the Emerald LiveLink is set up within Bluetooth range (20m) of your Emerald Electricity Advisor and in range of your Wi-Fi router.

Yes, Emerald LiveLink requires power. Please plug in and set up your LiveLink using the supplied USB-C Power Cable.

Yes, your smart phone needs to be connected to the same Wi-Fi as your LiveLink to complete the set up.

Your installer is the best person to contact first for any questions or issues related to your Emerald product. They’re familiar with your installation and can provide immediate assistance. If you need further help, our support centre is available to answer and resolve many common queries.
