How can Emerald hot water heat pumps save money?
Emerald’s hot water heat pumps are designed to be highly efficient, saving you up to 74-83% in energy costs compared to standard electric hot water systems.
Unlike traditional electric systems that use electricity to heat water directly, Emerald hot water heat pumps use electricity to power the compressor and fan, which helps draw in heat from the air to warm the water. This smart design means you get hot water with significantly less electricity, leading to substantial savings on your energy bills.
What is the lifespan of an Emerald heat pump?
Emerald hot water heat pump systems are engineered to last. Designed in Australia, our engineers follow stringent testing protocols to ensure quality across our hot water heat pump range.
The life expectancy of an Emerald hot water heat pump is 10 to 20 years.
Direct sunlight, rainfall and salt spray can make Emerald systems deteriorate faster as they are exposed to the elements. Over time, that can cause the life expectancy to reduce.
Speak to your installer about the best environment for your hot water heat pump. For outdoor installations, we recommend working with your installer to reduce exposure to outdoor elements, a safe spot behind or under protective cover.
What are the government incentives offered on Emerald Heat Pumps?
In line with Australia’s national goal to save energy, reduce our reliance on natural gas, and cut down on harmful pollutants, the Australian Government has given each state the green light to launch incentive programs that reward for switching to energy efficient solutions, including hot water heat pumps. More on incentive programs and rebates here.
At Emerald, our solutions are engineered to align with the Government incentives and rebates.
Each state in Australia has its own set of rules and standards when it comes to these energy saving rewards. So, depending on where you live, you might need to meet specific criteria to take full advantage of these fantastic offers.
To find out if you're eligible for a government incentivised Emerald product, simply use our savings calculator, and a certified installer will review your information, reach out to confirm your eligibility and guide you through the process.

How much does an Emerald hot water heat pump cost to install?
As the manufacturer, Emerald engineers high quality hot water heat pumps, but the cost of installation is finalised with your installer.
The installer will be able to give you an accurate estimate based on your location, what system you’re replacing (or if it’s a new install), and the available government rebate incentives to help lower the cost. Note that only accredited installers are able to apply for government rebate incentives.
Since installation costs vary with factors like system size, location and labour, prices can range, on top of eligibility for government rebate incentive programs, we recommend speaking directly to your installer for a cost on install as there are many elements that could impact the cost.
To ensure you’re maximising any available rebates, only accredited installers can apply for the government incentives. Fill out our find an installer form to connect with one of our partner installers across Australia. They’ll guide you through the process and help determine if you qualify for any government incentives, making the path to efficient hot water even more affordable.

What's the difference between the All-In-One and the Split System Heat Pump?
Both Emerald All-In-One and split system hot water heat pump were engineered for efficiency.
The main difference between Emerald’s All-In-One and Split System Heat Pumps lies in their design, installation and Emerald App integration.
The All-In-One hot water heat pump is a compact unit where both the water tank and heating components are integrated, making it ideal for smaller spaces and straightforward installation. It has a sleek, minimalist design in our recognisable square shape. The All-In-One also benefits from having built in Wi-Fi, which enables you to connect your All-In-One to your smart phone to manage and monitor your hot water system from anywhere. anytime.
Emerald Split System hot water heat pump has separate units, which allows for greater flexibility in placement. The tank can be placed both indoor and outdoor, and the fan only outdoor. This can be beneficial for larger homes or properties with narrow space. The split systems control panel is built into the outdoor fan unit, allowing for system control.
Both options offer energy efficiency, but the choice depends on your space requirements, installation and control preferences.
