You can edit your Property information by navigating to the settings button on the top right of your App's home screen:

From this Settings button, you can then choose the below option:

You can then edit all your property information, including; Address, Electricity Rates, Energy Budget and Property members.

 

So that you know! You must be logged into the Admin account of your Emerald Home App to edit or amend any property or account information.

 

 

You should receive your Installer passcode on the day of your heat pump installation. The 3rd-party installer responsible for your installation will send you your installer passcode once the installation has been completed. Once you have entered your Installer passcode, you will be prompted to update your password to log in to your Emerald App.

 

Your installer passcode is a one-time use-only code allowing you to access your account on the installation day. Your Installer passcode is randomly generated and is not stored by Emerald. You will not need to use your Installer passcode to log in once it is completed the first time.

 

You won't be able to present your Installer code to log into your Emerald App.

You can edit your email address by navigating to the Emerald App Dashboard and pressing the Profile button at the bottom right of the page:

Once selected, you will then be taken to a new page that has a list of Account options.

 

Please choose the option:

You can then edit your account information including your Email address. 

 

If you have signed in using a Social login (Apple ID, Gmail); this option will be greyed out and you will have to request a change of email through your Apple or Gmail account.

To sign up for an Emerald account with either Google or Apple, please follow the following steps:
  1. Download Emerald App from this link; Open the app and tap the Google or Apple logo on the Log-in page.
  2. Enter either your Google or Apple email.
  3. Create a password and press continue.
  4. Follow the in-app prompts to complete the registration process.

If you would like to add one or more properties to your Emerald app, please follow the steps below:
  1. On the home page, click on the' +' icon.
  2. Choose 'Add a property' from the list.
  3. Enter the property details and press continue.
  4. Answer the survey questions in the 'energy assessment' (can be skipped).
  5. You can then enter the properties electricity rates information.
  6. You will then be directed back to the Home screen and now be able to see properties listed in your app and switch between them by clicking on the property name.

A 5GHz router/modem usually emits two Wi-Fi networks: a 5GHz and a 2.4GHz connection. The default Wi-Fi password for both networks should be the same, and it can be found at the back of the router/modem if it still needs to be changed manually.

Yes, you can still access your data at any time.

 

Emerald App offers seamless data synchronisation, automatically updating your information once a day. This ensures that you have the latest data at your fingertips. Additionally, the app allows you to access your real-time data as frequently as you desire. Whether you prefer to check it periodically or in real-time, Emerald App empowers you with up-to-date information whenever you need it, giving you valuable insights and control over your energy management system.

Go to your settings on your Emerald App.

  1. Settings from the home page
  2. My devices
  3. Click Electricity Advisor
  4. Click the Settings button
  5. Turn Auto-Sync 'On' or click the prompt to allow location preferences.

With AC Link and Emerald app, you can adjust mode and fan settings, set schedules and timers, set your AC to adjust depending on the temperature of your home, and more.

Emerald App uses geofencing to identify when it is near your Emerald smart tech products. Your data will sync automatically, only once daily, maximising your app's performance.

Emerald values your privacy, and we do not collect or store your location. Emerald App uses geo-fencing to identify when it is near your Electricity Advisor. This lets your data be synced only once daily, maximising the app's performance.

You will be asked to 'Allow' Emerald App to access this device's location on your initial set-up and after most crucial firmware updates.


Top tip: If you are using Android, select Precise while using the app for the best performance.

If you are experiencing issues with Auto-Sync, please try the following steps:

  1. Force close your Emerald App and turn it back on again. On your iPhone, swipe the bottom of your screen or double-tap the home button, find the Emerald App and swipe up to close the app.
  2. You can go into your settings and turn the Auto-Sync feature on and off again.
  3. If the above steps still do not work, try uninstalling the app and installing it again.

Emerald does not have access to your password and would not share or request that information at any time.

We value your right to privacy and therefore, do not store your passwords on the Emerald App Dashboard.


You can amend your password by following the Forgot Password prompt on the Emerald Home login screen, we will then send a One-Time password to your email. You will then have to enter that 6-digit One-Time password into the prompted field and create your new password.

Setting up your budget allows your weekly report to show how you are tracking against your savings target. You can set up a yearly, seasonal or monthly budget to customise the Weekly Report helping you identify energy-saving opportunities.

If you are having issues updating the Emerald app, we recommend trying the following steps;

1. Restart your device
Try restarting your device – it might be another no brainer step, but it’s a surprisingly effective one.

2. Check your phone storage.
A common cause of app download problems is a lack of storage on your device. Usually, you will receive a notification if your phone storage is low. However, we recommend you log in to your device Settings to ensure your storage is not causing the download issue.

3. Check for system updates.
Sometimes an update is pending on your device. To check if one is currently available for your device, head to Settings and check for pending system updates. If an update is waiting to be actioned, install it and download the app afterwards.

Check your connection If you are using WiFi, test your internet speed. If it seems to be working but is slow, either restart your modem or contact your ISP.

Check your phone storage A common cause for app download problems is a lack of storage on your device. Usually, you will receive a notification if your phone storage is low. However, we recommend you log in to your device ‘Settings’ to ensure your storage is not causing the download issue.

Check for system updates. Sometimes an update is pending on your device. To check if one is currently available for your device, head to Settings and check for pending system updates. If an update is waiting to be actioned, install it and download the app afterwards.

and on IOS devices; IOS Version 13 and higher

If you are experiencing freezing or crashing whilst using the app, please try the following steps:

 

  1. Restart your device Try restarting your device – it might be another no-brainer step, but it’s a surprisingly effective one.
  2. Check for app updates Old versions of the Emerald apps can sometimes run slow, freeze or crash. Check to see if an Emerald update is waiting for you to install in your app store.
  3. Check for iOS/Android updates Our app is updated frequently to suit the newest Android and iOS updates. If you have not yet updated your mobile device to the most recent operating system; please review this in your mobile device's settings. 
  4. Uninstall and reinstall Try deleting (uninstalling) and then reinstalling the Emerald app. You won’t lose any of your essential energy data in this process as everything is stored in the cloud.
Note: the app will require you to log back into your account once it has been reinstalled.

If you're having difficulty locating your smoke alarm, it's essential to understand that the "Locate" feature depends on your geolocation status. There are specific safety measures in place that restrict the use of this feature.

 

  1. Ensure geolocation is enabled:

    Could you confirm that your device's geolocation setting is turned on for the app to locate the smoke alarm accurately?

  2. Use at home only:

    Remember that the "Locate" feature is specifically designed for use when you are at home. Attempting to use it from other locations may result in limited functionality.

  1. Open the Apple App Store on your iPhone.
  2. Type "Emerald smart home" in the search bar and hit enter.
  3. Locate the Emerald app in the search results.
  4. Click on the app to be directed to its dedicated page.
  5. Press the "Download" button to initiate the installation process.
  6. Once downloaded, you can open the app and follow the setup prompts.

  3. Find the Emerald app in the search results.

If you prefer a quick search within your app store:

  1. Open your app store on your smartphone or smart device.
  2. In the search bar, type "Emerald smart home."
  3. Please be sure to look for the Emerald app in the search results.
  4. Click on the app, and from there, download and install following the on-screen instructions

You can easily enter your electricity rates in the Emerald app by following the steps below.
You can click on the settings icon at the top right-hand corner of the homepage and select My property and you will then be presented with the option: ‘Electricity Rates’.
  1. Enter the name of your Electricity Distribution Company and Energy Retailer, located on your latest electricity bill (please note; you may need to confirm your Distribution Network Companies tariffs ((time of use)) to ensure you have the correct time of use)
  2. Select the correct tariff structure (based on the information provided on your bill) and enter the correct rate/s information.
    1. Peak, off-peak, shoulder, other
    2. Disc, variable, 4 types
    3. Peak, off-peak, shoulder
    4. Peak, off-peak
    5. Flat rate
  3. Enter the Supply Charge (information found on your electricity bill).
  4. You will then be prompted to select the GST option (information found on your electricity bill).
    1. If the GST is included in the bill, drag the slide to display green.
    2. If the GST is not included in the bill, drag the slide to display grey.
  5. If you receive any discount from your electricity distributor, this can be entered in the next section (details of any discounts can be found on your electricity bill).
  6. You have now successfully added the electricity rates. If anything changes, you can always adjust the rates by the settings icon at the top right corner of the home page.

To ensure compatibility with most smart products, it is recommended to switch your router's frequency from 5GHz to 2.4GHz.

 

Follow the instructions below to quickly and easily make the change:

1. Locate the router IP address: Check the back of your router for the IP address sticker (e.g. "192.168.X.X" or "10.X.X.X").

2. Open a web browser: Launch any browser on a connected device (computer, smartphone, or tablet).

3. Access the router's settings: Type the noted IP address into the browser's address bar and press Enter.

4. Enter username and password: On the router's configuration page, enter the router's username and password (found on the back of the router). Not the Wi-Fi network credentials. Click Enter or Log In.

5. Navigate to Wi-Fi settings: Find "Wi-Fi settings" or a similar option/tab to access the wireless settings.

6. Select the frequency: In the Wi-Fi settings, locate Band 2 (5GHz) and switch it off. Ensure Band 1 (2.4GHz) remains on.

7. Save the changes: Click "Save" or "Apply" to save the settings. The router will switch to the 2.4GHz frequency.

 

By following these steps, your Wi-Fi network will be switched to the 2.4GHz frequency.

Make sure your Emerald app runs in the background, allowing your Electricity Advisor to connect regularly. Don't worry; your phone is not using many resources when running in the background. It will only sync data when it detects you are in proximity to your electricity advisor and only once per day.

Yes, the Emerald App is free to download and use, serving as the central hub for all Emerald’s connected products.

While the app itself is free, accessing its full range of features and starting your journey towards an efficient, smart home requires an investment in Emerald products.

From monitoring energy usage with the Electricity Advisor (and LiveLink WiFi add on) to managing settings for heating, cooling through AC Link,, the app enables you to bring all your Emerald devices together, helping you create a seamless and efficient home experience.

Emerald offers a range of Smart Tech products that can be easily self-installed.

Emerald  is designed as a standalone app, specifically tailored to work seamlessly with Emerald’s own products, creating an efficient and cohesive smart home experience. Currently, it does not connect to other in-home smart devices like Google Nest or Alexa. However, by linking all Emerald products, the app offers powerful tools to manage energy, heating, cooling, and more from one place.

For specific compatibility, our Electricity Advisor integrates with a variety of smart meters (see the list of compatible smart meters) and AC Link works with all split system devices.
