What are Smart Actions?

Smart Actions can revolutionise your use of high-energy consumption products at home, saving you time and reducing your bills effortlessly. Smart Actions in Emerald App let you automate routine tasks across your devices, from heat pumps to air conditioners. They save you time and electricity by automatically performing tasks on your behalf.

How do they work

Smart Actions are designed to give you greater control by automating when your device turns on or off. They override your device’s standard settings, allowing you to create custom schedules and conditions that suit your daily routine. Whether you want to save energy by running your system during off-peak hours or ensure your home is comfortable before you arrive, Smart Actions gives you the flexibility to optimise both convenience and efficiency. With just a few taps in the app, you can automate tasks, reduce manual effort, and enjoy more streamlined control of your home’s energy usage.

Our engineers considered a heap of home scenarios before they decided upon the standard settings for our products. Your Emerald All-In-One Heat Pump is designed with standard settings so your system will always turn on when needed. However, after monitoring your home’s usage and individual water needs you may find that turning the heat pump off or on at certain times will give you better outcomes.

When to implement

With the Emerald All-In-One Heat Pump, Smart Actions are designed to override the standard settings. Our engineers designed the standard settings with you in mind. We recommend you evaluate your water usage over a period of time before making any changes to your Heat Pumps Smart Action settings

Example of Smart Actions

• Heat your water

Set your schedules so that your system will turn on at the perfect time for when your household needs hot water.

• Set-up radius parameters for Air Conditioning

Set your Geo-location rules so that your AC system will turn off when the last person leaves the house, or on as you return.

• Utilise surplus solar power – NEW (in BETA testing)

Leverage excess solar energy by setting your heat pump to automatically turn on when your solar panels are generating surplus power. This allows you to heat your hot water using free solar energy. *BRAND NEW FEATURE as of June 2024 – currently in BETA testing on the Emerald App. Log in to your Emerald app or contact us to find out more*

• Avoid peak tariffs

Set your schedules so that your units will not turn on during peak tariffs.

** Note. With the Emerald All-In-One Heat Pump, Smart Actions are designed to override the standard settings. The standard settings are designed with the average household usage in mind. We recommend you evaluate your water usage over a period of time before making any changes to your Heat Pumps Smart Action settings. How to set up Smart Actions
