Emerald Hot Water Heat Pumps on The Block 2026

Emerald on The Block 2026

Five homes. Ten Emerald hot water heat pumps.

The Block 2026 has brought some impressive homes to life at 109 Old Mornington Road in Mt Eliza, with each property taking on its own personality through its architecture, finishes and approach to luxury living.

And while the bathrooms, kitchens and living spaces might be what viewers notice first, there’s something just as important working behind the scenes. That is where Emerald comes in.

Emerald is proud to have supplied and installed 10 Emerald 320L E Pro hot water heat pumps across the five Block homes, with two systems installed in each property.

Why two heat pumps for each house? Surely one is enough?

On paper, one 320L unit would cover a large family home. But The Block homes aren’t typical family homes. The Block is known for bathrooms that behave less like bathrooms and more like day spas.

With multiple bathrooms, oversized shower heads, deep baths and homes designed for entertaining, we wanted to make sure each property had plenty of hot water capacity, on top of each unit’s ability to keep recovering throughout the day.

More than just the tank volume

The amount of hot water a household can use over a day isn’t limited to the number printed on the side of the tank.

When hot water is used, fresh water enters the tank to replace it. The heat pump detects the change and automatically begins reheating, continuously recovering hot water as it is drawn from the tank.

Because hot water use is generally spread throughout the day, this ongoing recovery means a household can use more hot water over the course of a day than the tank’s nominal capacity alone.

There is also the effect of mixing. Hot water stored in the tank is mixed with cold water before it reaches the tap to achieve a comfortable temperature. Depending on the stored water temperature and the temperature required at the tap, the usable volume can be greater than the tank’s nominal capacity.

With two 320L systems, ongoing recovery and the ability to boost when required, the Block homes have been set up to handle some serious hot water demand. With Emerald App you can monitor, schedule and control your hot water.

Five homes. Five distinctive designs.

One of the things we love about The Block 2026 is how the same product works across five completely different home designs.

The exterior finishes range from blond brick and stone cladding to grey and warm timber, yet the distinctive white Emerald heat pumps sit comfortably within each design.

Here’s a closer look at the five homes and the different styles that make each property unique.

The Block House 1

House 1 – Adam and Jolene

Adam and Jolene’s home combines blond brickwork on the lower level with grey timber cladding above, creating a contrast between lighter masonry and contemporary finishes.

The two heat pumps are positioned apart along the side of the home.

The clean white finish of the Emerald heat pumps complements the home’s modern exterior.

The Block House 2

House 2 – Chantel and Wyatt

Chantel and Wyatt’s home features both stone and timber cladding, bringing texture and a warm natural finish to its exterior.

The warm, textured stone provides a striking contrast to the clean lines of the Emerald heat pumps with the two units sitting apart along the side of the home.

The Block House 3

House 3 – Lisa and Rosco

Lisa and Rosco’s home pairs blond brickwork with timber cladding, balancing natural tones with contemporary design. The combination of brick and timber creates a welcoming backdrop for the distinctive white Emerald heat pumps.

As with Houses 1 and 2, the two units are spaced apart.

The Block House 4

House 4 – Courtney and Sev

Courtney and Sev’s features warm timber cladding which works so well with the understated white finish of the Emerald heat pumps, which are positioned side by side along the side of the house.

The Block House 5

House 5 – Rick and Tayla

Grey timber-style cladding gives Rick and Tayla’s home a clean, contemporary exterior. The cool tones complement the refined look of the Emerald heat pumps, which, like House 4, are positioned next to each other along the side of the house.

Hot water for homes that are anything but ordinary

And while the Emerald heat pumps may not be the first thing you notice when you walk through a finished Block home, they’re ready to quietly do one of the most important jobs in the house: keeping the hot water flowing.
