When the ACT Tennis Centre upgraded their lighting, they did more than just brighten their courts—they transformed the player experience and achieved significant energy savings, all while meeting competition-level standards.
Project Overview:
Brightening the Game for Everyone
ACT Tennis Centre is home to 8 courts, including 6 flood-lit courts, serving a vibrant community of members and hosting both social and formal competitions. Their mercury vapour lights were inefficient and no longer met Australian competition standards. To improve the experience for players and spectators, the Tennis Centre embarked on a critical lighting upgrade.
Actions taken:
Illuminating the Courts, Saving on Costs
In partnership with a trusted installation company, Emerald provided and installed 22 new 600W Ocular Sports Lights. These energy-efficient lights replaced the outdated 1200W mercury vapour lights, resulting in a more uniform light distribution, increased lux levels from under 160 to over 320, and significantly improved visual comfort.
By leveraging Emerald’s lightweight, easily mounted lights, the upgrade was completed using existing infrastructure, minimising installation costs.
